My balcony garden

So this weekend the fella’ and I joined the masses of Parisians and went to Trufault to buy plants to plant our first  balcony garden. Since it seems like we’ve totally avoided a freeze this year we are ready to take the plunge and build our garden up. For the moment it is just basil, mint, thyme and two flowered plants. But later this week we are heading back for a marvelous lavender plant so that every time the wind blows through our window it will smell like the south of France and remind me of last summer sitting in the lavender gardens in St Tropez.  Plus the fella’ is going to buy himself a bush…because typically that’s what people put on their balconies. But I’m insisting on having flowers.

We have twin balconies so the other one we are transforming into our sitting area, placing cushions on the ground and against the railing to make a window seat. We tested it out this weekend eating brioche and plums.

Ah spring has so many promises in Paris

About Emilie

I'm a small girl with big ambitions and very little common sense it seems. I decided after I graduated from college that I would move from my little city of Lafayette Louisiana to the raging monster city that is Paris. In 4 months of planning I have now uprooted everything I had in an amazing town to live in a truly wild place where I have no idea WHAT I am going to do. But isn't that the fun of it all. So here is cheers to getting lost, breaking hearts, starving, and many wonderful adventures that come along with finding yourself.
