Paris Metro Parody: S.V.P Simone translation. broken down

The Summer months in Paris have a way of bringing out my deepest resent for the Metro. I see people getting taken advantage of, and taking advantage of the system. And recently my friend sent me this awesome video on Minilogs that really put the whole thing into a more approachable state.

Most of my everyday frustrations with Paris are rooted in the RATP peoples’ behavior in the metro and their failure follow the social bylaws involving this odd space, is truly the bane of my existence.  But when I see people getting a fine because they have gotten scammed , they didn’t understand the zones, or just because they jumped the barriers I still do feel sorry for them.

And here are some young guys who have shaped the aggravations of the Paris metro so well. So here is a quick translation.

je voulais partir très loin/ I Wanted to get far away
Le guichet est fermé, j’ai pas de billet/ the ticket counter was closed and I don’t have a pass
Tant pis je prends mon train/ oh well, i’ll take the train anyway
Je suis ma voie, tranquille je m’assois/ i’m on the platform, no worries, I sit down
Y a des jours comme ça, l’interdit ne compte pas/ there are days like this where anything goes
Derrière j’entends une voix/ behind me I hear a voice
Qui me plait, je me tourne et je n’y crois pas/ It pleases me, I turn around and I can’t believe
Devant mes yeux une femme me contrôle/ Right infront of me a rail agent
Un badge bleu, son prénom c’est Simone/ With a blue namebadge that says Simone

Refrain :
Simone X 2
Bonjour monsieur, votre billet s’il vous plait/ Hello sir, your ticket please
Simone X 2
La la la la la…

Mon cœur bat au son de sa voix/ My heart beats at the sound of her voice
Je n’contrôle rien du tout, je suis sous le coup/ I have no controle, now i’m on the spot
Je rêve de l’embrasser, d’avoir une amende/ I dream of kissing her and of her giving me a fine
Et faire c’qu’elle demande/ I do as she says
Y a des jours comme ça, la folie ne compte pas/ There are days like this where crazy acts will do you no good
Je veux son téléphone (pour) entendre chaque jour/ I’d love to get her phone number so everyday I can hear
La voix de Simone/ Simone’s voice
Tous les matins je reprendrai le train
Sur le chemin je chanterai le refrain/ And along my way I sing this refrain

Simone X 2
Bonjour monsieur, votre billet s’il vous plait
Simone X 2
La la la la la…

Oui je suis désolé/ Oh I’m so sorry
J’ai pas pris mon billet/ I haven’t taken my ticket
Et Simone m’a grillée /And Simone busted me
Hé ! Hé ! Hé !

About Emilie

I'm a small girl with big ambitions and very little common sense it seems. I decided after I graduated from college that I would move from my little city of Lafayette Louisiana to the raging monster city that is Paris. In 4 months of planning I have now uprooted everything I had in an amazing town to live in a truly wild place where I have no idea WHAT I am going to do. But isn't that the fun of it all. So here is cheers to getting lost, breaking hearts, starving, and many wonderful adventures that come along with finding yourself.
