Serving burgers, pasta, salads, steaks and other standards the Pub St Germain has a very small but varied menu, something that personally I appreciate. I hate when you go to a restaurant and the choices are four pages long, it takes forever to order and then seems like you picked the wrong thing anyway. The pub’s menu is sure to have one thing to suit any person so if you’re looking for a simple and not “casse-tête” meal than this is the place.
It is also a true nonstop service where they serve all day everyday so this place makes for great late night eats at a little bit lesser of a price than the Poule Au Pot and certainly a much nicer alternative to the late night kabab or what i like to refer to as a glob of self loathing and regret with lettuce and tomato. Here you can get Burgers, salads, club sandwiches and finer dishes. I would suggest the Mushroom risotto with chicken breast. SUPER GOOD and really filling.
They also serve Absinthe! Legal in Paris since 2010 it is an exciting change of pace and certainly something you can bring home as a story. They have special blends to make you dream of Paris in 1919! For exsample: Try the Simone de Beauvoir.
Though it is very small, their terras is quite nice and lets out onto one of my favorite of Paris’ passages. This passage also hosts the backdoor entrance to the Procope, Un Dimanche Matin a Paris which is a favorite place to drink hot chocolate à l’ancienne (old fashioned), a really wonderful spice and olive oil shop from some of the most savory souvenirs, and just a plain ol’ adorable way to got from Boulvard St. Germain to St. Michelle (by way of Rue St. André des Arts). Sitting on the terras in the little ally way changes things from the outdoor eating areas that are usually just tables on sidewalks along the busy streets. The terras is a real + because besides it being a pretty great place the Pub has a rather awful jukebox.
